1. The service

Bucky is a personal finance organisation tool. It helps you track accounts, cards, cash flow, bills, loans, investments, budgets, goals, and related projections for your own informational use.

Bucky is not a bank, lender, payment processor, broker, investment adviser, tax adviser, or fiduciary. Nothing in the app is professional financial, legal, or tax advice. You remain responsible for decisions you make with your money.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bucky. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Local-first use (this release)

• Your finance data is stored in an encrypted database on your device.
• You may export local backups; you are responsible for protecting those files.
• Cloud Sync, cloud accounts, and paid Bucky Pro features are not part of this free public release’s product offering. If we add them later, additional terms and a Privacy Policy update may apply.

4. Your responsibilities

• Enter information accurately if you rely on Bucky’s summaries.
• Keep your device secure (passcode, biometrics, OS updates).
• Safeguard any backup files you create.
• Do not use Bucky for unlawful purposes.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows, or disrupt our services.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Bucky or related systems (including any feedback or diagnostics endpoints), including by submitting malware, abusive content, or another person’s sensitive data without permission.

6. Intellectual property

The Bucky app, branding, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of the finance data you enter.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how local-first processing works in this release. You must accept the Privacy Policy to use Bucky.

8. Disclaimers

Bucky is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculations, reminders, or projections are error-free or that the app will be uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Bucky. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim (if any), or (b) INR 1,000.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.

10. Ending use

You may stop using Bucky at any time by deleting local data in the app and/or uninstalling it. We may stop offering the app or change features with reasonable notice where practicable.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes may require re-acceptance in the app when we bump the in-app terms version. Continued use after acceptance means you agree to the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer protections that apply where you live.
